For a number of months now, All Nippon Airways has been testing personal mobility, self-driving electric wheelchairs at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport (NRT).
Still better than Japan I think..

New data by the Department for Transport has revealed which English cities have the most and least wheelchair accessible taxis per 1000 people
2 CommentsUS cities are inconsistent and I don’t know of an information source that profiles this. When I travel here I make many phone calls in advance to find locally available resources!

Great idea! I made a copy of the article and will send it to the folks who oversee some of the public trails in our area. I’m always limited in how far I can go because of my charge.

Huh interesting! Even though I am a power wheelchair user, I have never thought about this! That is why sharing info is so important.
It would be great to have these in restaurants as well.

Hattiesburg adds public wheelchair charging stations
Hattiesburg unveiled a public wheelchair charging station Thursday.
Interesting Idea, couldn’t hurt to have them. For myself, my chair usually lasts a week+ on a charge, however I do carry a compact charger in a backpack with me everywhere just in case, just need an outlet. I have only used it once at a friends house when I forgot to check my level, I try to make sure I’m charged up prior to any long trips otherwise.
