Celebrity Cruises is building two accessible river ships for 2027-2028
Celebrity are launching Celebrity Compass in 2027 and Celebrity Seeker in 2028, and from what’s been announced they’ve gone well beyond the usual “one adapted cabin and call it done” approach.
A few things that jumped out:
- Flush thresholds in restaurants and lounges, plus lowered sections at bar and guest relations counters

HOW ARE CELEBRITY CRUISES MAKING RIVER CRUISING ACCESSIBLE?
BY JON FLETCHER
daniellevates2 Commentsooh this is a great thing to read! I have heard hit or miss things about accessibility on river cruises but never did a deep dive on the research
1Cool, my parents went on a while back and commented on the accessibility not being as great as big ocean faring ships. I love the idea of solving the issue with technology, not just giving up.
Carnival's Celebration Key just got sensory-inclusive certified
Carnival’s new private destination in Grand Bahama, Celebration Key, just earned KultureCity Sensory Inclusive certification. They timed the announcement to World Autism Acceptance Month. In practice that means sensory bags you can borrow, quiet spots scattered around the island, and somewhere north of 400 staff trained to help guests with…

Apparently, they have no disability areas in the show/theaters and one guy with his mother in a chair had to watch from an obstructed view area way off to the side only. Did you have a similar experience? We’ve been on 23 cruises on all…

Consumer Reports just ranked cruise lines on accessibility
Consumer Reports surveyed nearly 19,000 members on their cruise experiences and scored each line on accessibility. Disney and Viking both got perfect 5/5 scores. Celebrity, Holland America, Oceania, Princess, and Royal Caribbean came in at 4/5. Carnival and Norwegian scored 3/5.
Worth noting: US law requires about 3% of cabins to be…

Best Cruise Lines for Accessibility - Consumer Reports
CR's survey of 19,000 people about their experiences finds the top cruise lines for accessibility.
this is super interesting!! I made a survey about cruise ships a while ago but I never launched it since I didn’t have a clear idea of what to do with the data, so it is interesting to see these stats. One of my too many projects! love cruising!
