Ramps, specialist equipment and increased awareness are some of the improvements out there
A touching story. However, my biggest thought was why are these beach wheelchairs $5000?! They are cloth, bent metal tubes and inflatable tires! I know it is likely due few being manufactured so prices go up, but seriously, there are sooo many people and beaches that could use them but are likely turned off by the price……

Accessibility grant making lives better, organizations encouraged to chase theirs
Demi1 CommentWhoa, $5000 does seem excessive! I’ve seen some pretty sturdy looking wheelchair-style shower chairs (so they should already be waterproof) in only the 100’s of dollars, they don’t have the beach tires but I can’t imagine the bulk of the cost being the tires, I would think it retrofitting them wouldn’t be a big issue.
Anything you would add to this guide? Or is it really everything you need to know 😛
