Answering the Top 10 Questions About Delta's Airplane Wheelchair Space - Wheelchair Travel
Widespread media coverage has raised public awareness about the possibility of a wheelchair space on airplanes, but many questions remain.
schroth-sensei and Carlos1 CommentVery thorough! I wish he got an answer for when it will be available, but it’s understandable given its prototype-nature that Delta probably doesn’t even know yet. Great follow-up! 😃
Here is a video and report on Delta’s prototype for accessible airplane seating! Thoughts?!

First Look: Air4All Wheelchair Securement Space by Delta Flight Products - Wheelchair Travel
Delta Flight Products has unveiled the first prototype of its wheelchair securement space — I traveled to Germany to give it a test drive.
That video answered a few questions I had, especially because he’s using the same wheelchair (haha and same color) as mine. Although mine has a custom back and head support, it seems this could still work. They mentioned it will be expanded a bit to fit more chairs, so I’m pretty happy seeing this now.

That’s a great start! I’m not sure my chair would fit the back/headrest area of that, but that is a prototype so they’ll figure it out (and honestly I wouldn’t need their headrest, just strap my chair down and I’d be happy!). I hope Delta makes this a thing soon. 😃
It sounds like the Department of Transportation is at least listening. Hopefully it will translate into action. (Especially toilets please!)

Cruising Altitude: Progress for disabled travelers is not coming fast enough
Does the U.S. really have accessible travel? I asked experts what needs to happen to make flying better and safer for passengers with disabilities.
“Imagine if Americans were to see that this particular airline broke 700 wheelchairs last year, but substitute ‘legs’ for ‘wheelchair,’ ” Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., glad I’m not the only one who considers breaking wheelchairs is the same as breaking legs.
