Since 1999, I’ve taken about one round-trip flight a year.
Don’t be jealous, but I’ve only one major damage to my chair in that time. One of my footrests got bashed in on an LAX-JFK flight in 2004. United paid for it without any resistance.

Since I started using mobility devices late 2015, first a small segway and then a wheelchair with power assist, I’ve taken a plane 17 times and had my device damaged twice:
