Its Golden Week here in Japan where there are a number of national holidays in a row and most people take advantage of it to take time off and travel.
Personally, even though it is much easier to get time off, I avoid traveling this week due to the crowds etc.
Just wondering about everyone else. When traveling, do you try to avoid peak times…

I avoid high-peak travel seasons because those are more expensive. For example, the first and only time I have been to NYC was in January 2004.

I’ve been traveling around during this GW and it is indeed very crowded on trains, etc. Went to Shibuya a few days ago, Odawara Castle yesterday (samurai parade), and Showa Kinen Park today (poppies).
