Accessible onsen in Kusatsu
Posted by Josh Grisdale on May 1, 2025 at 10:13 pmHello
Does anyone have any suggestions for an onsen in Kusatsu with either an in-room onsen or at least an accessible family bath?
Thanks!

@joshgrisdale Hello Josh-san,
You really enjoy traveling a lot in Japan!
For wheelchair-accessible hotels in Kusatsu, we can recommend the following.
– Kusatsu Now Resort Hotel : Twin room with onsen open-air bath
https://www.kusatsu-now.co.jp/room/index.html#room14 (Japanese language website)
– Yubatake Sensui : Universal room with onsen bath
https://www.kusatsu-sensui.jp/content/room.php (Japanese language website)
→There is an onsen bath in the room, but there is a 15 cm step in front of the bathroom.
– Kusatsu Onsen Boun : Japanese-Western style room with onsen bath
https://www.hotelboun.com/room/main-JWspa.php (Japanese language website)
→The hotel lobby requires guests to remove their shoes, but wheelchair users can wipe their tires before entering.
The dining room, which is separate from your room, has tatami flooring and a 15 cm step. (Not an issue for non-meal plans.)
We have not yet confirmed the size of the doors, so you will need to compare the size of your wheelchair before making a reservation.
Of course, we can make reservations for you as a travel agency, so please feel free to request us if you wish!
We can offer you the hotel’s standard rates, and no arrangement fees are required.
Have a wonderful trip to Kusatsu!
