    Hello again

I was wondering is the Ghibli museum wheelchair accessible?

Also how many rides are wheelchair accessible at Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea? I did watch a YouTube review on the Disney theme parks and the guy didn’t like it because he couldn’t get on any rides. There’s a lot I wanna see so I’m fine if I can’t ride stuff but I do want to try and get on Tangled and Winnie the Pooh ride!

Do you cover this stuff in your book @joshgrisdale ?

The Ghibli Museum is very accessible, though Mitaka is a bit out of the way. When I was there I took the train, and stopped on the way at Inokashira Zoo to see their enclosed Squirrel Trail. Nakano Broadway is also relatively close by, which is great for anime fans (it was Akihabara before Akihabara, essentially).

    Hello Ana,

Never did any of these but as far as I know Ghibli Museum tickets are sales online only and have to be book several months in advance. Almost everyone want to go there.

For Disney Parks, I am a little bit surprised because we ride a lot in Disneyland Paris with my disabled son.

Every kids zone are ridables, so of course big roller-coaster due to his condition but, no ride at all seems rude.

Sorry not to help about japanese Disney parks

    Hi Ana

We’re going to the Tokyo Disney resort as part of our Japan trip in October this year and I use a wheelchair so I’ve read a lot of the information on the Tokyo Disney Resort website. This link in particular will show you videos of someone in a wheelchair getting onto various rides. I believe both tangled and Pooh’s hunny hunt are wheelchair accessible although you may have to transfer into one of the park wheelchairs in order to ride.

    Hello

Here is our write up on Ghibli Museum – https://www.accessible-japan.com/places/japan/tokyo/mitaka/attractions/the-ghibli-museum/

Basically with the exception of the roof it is accessible. It does get crowded though!

For Disney – and all other theme parks in Japan – many, if not most, are off limits for those who cannot walk. I’m not sure if there was a law put into place or just rules by parks, but sometime after the earthquake and tsunami in 2011 most places set a rule where you can only ride attractions if you can evacuate by yourself without assistance in case an earthquake stops/breaks a ride and strands people.

Shows etc and some rides like the boat cruise (I think) are still accessible.
