WHILl model F folding scooter

Hi have any of you folks hired the WHILL folding scooter? If so is it easy to work out how to disassemble, charge it etc or were you given a manual in English?

Good news for many of you I hope is that the company have agreed to deliver it to my apartment in Tokyo then pick it up from my hotel in Naha at the end of my trip, something they’ve never done before – in other words I can ride it all around Japan!

The reason for my question is that they want to deliver it the day before I arrive. Normally when I hire a scooter abroad they bring it and show you how to work it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I’d be very interested to know what type of folding scooter. I own a TravelScoot. Weighs 15 kg and folds up. I take it on the plane and everywhere.

Hello, thanks for your testimony. I am discussing with Whill for one week in order to understand where they agree to deliver and take back the mobility scooter I need. I hope that tomorrow we will be able to conclude… shall keep the group informed about the results.

Thank you. From what I can ascertain they deliver to your accommodation rather than airports where I hope wheelchair assistance will be provided. ✌️

    Here’s their website: https://whill.inc/ca/whill-power-chairs

You should be able to get an English language manual either off it or emailed to you. There’s probably videos on YouTube as well.

      Update!

Since your helpful message I’ve come to the realisation that the model F is a power chair and model R is a scooter.

      See pic below

The person to contact is Yuri Ishiguro

      yuri.ishiguro@whill.inc

      or jp.ss-sales@whill.inc

      His message to me:

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Please see the detailed information about our rental service.

-Delivery place: The device cannot be delivered or picked up at an airports, stations or ports. You can receive and ship it back only at a hotel where you stay.

-Available models: The Model F or Model R is available for a rental service; However, Model R is limited only in certain areas and currently Okinawa is out of this area.

Therefore, if you would receive the device in a hotel of Tokyo and return it in a hotel of Okinawa, the Model F could be your choice. (Please let the hotels know about the delivery in advance.)

You can order the device from the page below.

Hope it answers your question. If you have any questions, please do let us know.

      Best regards,

      WHILL Europe

They are both approximately 50kg and expensive. (77,000 yen for 20 days) and want to deliver the day before I arrive.

Meanwhile I’ve found a lightweight folding scooter called Joy Cart I’ll be starting a new thread about.
