Does anyone know about non-profit organizations or travel agencies in Taiwan who supports travellers with accessibility needs. Our counterpart in Niigata, Japan, says they will soon have flights directly connecting Niigata and Taipei. They are seeking such organization in Taiwan who can support Japanese visiting Taiwan and Taiwanese…

Hi Chen
We travelled with http://www.voyagerintaiwan.com in April 2025 and were highly satisfied with their services for people travelling with a disability. In my case with a wheelchair. Please get in touch with Shawn Liu.- View more comments
Airport Transfer
Where are arriving at Narita Airport in March at 6pm and need to get to our hotel (Mimaru Tokyo Ikebukuro). We are one adult in manual wheelchair, one abled body adult and one 14 year child. We will have one suitcase each and small electric wheelchair attachment (batek) – weighs 12 kg.
What is the best way to do this…
Booked Taxi? Train?…
View more commentsHi Vanessa,
Thanks for your message. We’ve helped guests travel from Narita Airport to a Mimaru hotel before.
In general, the best options are either the train or a wheelchair-accessible care taxi (ramp van). Considering you’ll have suitcases as well, I think a wheelchair-accessible care taxi would be the most comfortable and convenient…

How to search for something in the Japan group
I am relatively new to this group. How do I search for a topic – eg booking shinkansen accessible seats? I’m sure most of my questions have been asked previously.
Hello!
At the beginning of the feed of a group, there is a search button that looks like a looking glass. You can type in your keyword and it will filter the activity below to only show results with that keyword. On desktop there is a “search tabifolk” button in the header, on mobile it just shows the magnifying glass on the top right of…

plan a trip to Tokyo and Kyoto
Hi everyone,
We are a family of 5 (parents and 3 adult children) planning to visit Japan for the first time at the end of March, for two weeks (Tokyo and Kyoto). Not sure where to start and looking for help planning the trip, especially with regards to booking hotels. I am an ambulatory wheelchair user, trouble finding accessible rooms…
View more commentsI read that Accessible Japan is a good starting point. I’m planning a trip in April myself so I’m in the same boat. Most of the hotels don’t seem to have email addresses and since I’m the US and don’t speak Japanese, using the phone is not an option.

As @Castleboston mentioned, we have some listings on Accessible Japan but it is still just a drop in the bucket. A travel agent may be the best option.

Aqua net Ferry
I need help from someone who can speak English and Japanese to help me book a ferry trip for Miyajima Island to Hiroshima Peace Park for 6 people (including one wheelchair person) on 3rd April 2026 departing the island @ 1310. I called them on the phone from Australia 0011 81 82 2405955 and they only spoke a little bit of English and she could…
View more commentsHi David,
Nice to meet you.
I saw your post—yes, that’s the Aqua Net “World Heritage Route.” I’ve assisted with this route before, so I’ll give them a call shortly and check the booking details for you.
If you’re okay with it, it may be easier (and safer to avoid any misunderstandings) to continue by email as well.
You can reach me at:
Hello☺️
I don’t know which company’s ship you are planning to board, but generally, reservations are not necessary. Some shipping companies reserve multiple wheelchair spaces. My client used the same service last year and had no problems. The ferry runs every 10 to 15 minutes, just like a bus. If you are worried, I recommend arriving at the dock…
