This is ridiculous!
Here, in the Los Angeles area, we’ve had accessible light-rail lines since 1987. Our subways and commuter trains and their stations are also fully accessible. The buses were much less accessible up to the late 90s and it took numerous TV news reports, two lawsuits, and the federal government stepping in to make those fully accessible. If a rail station’s elevator is out, audio and visual announcements are made along the entire rail line with alternative options listed so we can alter our travel if necessary. If an elevator is broken and hasn’t been reported, we can report it with an app.
Australia, get with it! Your entire country’s public transit systems need to be fully accessible.
