Travel Tips: Plan an Accessible Romania Trip 💼
Travel like a pro: Here are 5 tips for exploring Romania accessibly:
1️. Plan Ahead: Many top attractions have accessible features – research museums, hotels, and transport in advance. (Hint: Accessible Romania can handle this for you! 😉)
2️. Mind the Terrain: Old cities have cobblestones and hills (e.g. Sighișoara’s citadel is steep). Service your wheelchair ahead of time so you know it’s as ready as it can be for a little ruggedness. Though our guides are on hand to help!
3️. Accessible Transport: Book adapted transport early. We offer an adapted van out of Bucharest for tours, which is great because public accessible transit can be limited in smaller towns.
4️. Local Support: Don’t speak Romanian? No problem! Most Romanians in cities speak some English and are friendly – they’ll help if you ask. Learn “Mulțumesc” (“Thank you”) to charm the locals.
5️. Take Your Time: Savor the journey! Romania’s scenic spots (think rolling hills of Covasna or lakes of Sovata) are best enjoyed at a relaxed pace. Many spa resorts in these areas are disability-friendly, perfect for unwinding.
