Hello, my family and I are also planning a trip to Brazil next year. We will be going to Rio, would it be ideal to hire drivers (we’re a group of 5) rather than rely on public transportation? I’ve read about the metro system built with electronic wheelchair lifts, are these functional? Also, this is more of a general concern rather than that of accessibility, but are mugging and scams that really a high risk as this website (https://www.travelsafe-abroad.com/brazil/rio-de-janeiro/) suggests? We are of course still in the process of researching but would love to learn from someone from there/been there. Thank you!
