Hi everyone, i’m in Kyoto andwe’ve had a bit of an issue with my wheelchair. The cable that runs from the motor to the joystick that I drive it with got tangled when we folded it one time and it’s been cut. So I now have no legs essentially until we get it fixed. Anyone know someone in Kyoto who could fix it and who speaks English?. Thanks in advance!

    What is the wheelchair brand?

There may be a repair shop @tak can put you in touch with.

I used Google and searched for “Kyoto wheelchair repair”. This came up: https://g.co/kgs/tvS8Hdf If they don’t know English, use Google Translate for translation. If that doesn’t help and your chair brand is also in Japan, showing them the problem should be enough for them to know the help that you need.

Another way to find help is to see if your chair brand’s website lists authorized repair shops worldwide. Authorized repair shops get updated training from the manufacturer themselves.

Update: It appears the shop I previously linked is mostly for pediatric wheelchairs. I’m sure they know of repair shops that repair adult wheelchairs, though.
