Connect with travelers with disabilities and welcoming locals, offering tips on accessible hotels, wheelchair-friendly attractions, and transportation in Japan. From Tokyo’s bustling Shibuya Crossing and historic Asakusa to Kyoto’s golden Kinkaku-ji, Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park, and the hot springs of Hakone, whether it’s your first visit or a return trip, this is the place to ask about accommodations, getting around, or inclusive activities – someone here has likely experienced it before. You’ll find personal stories, travel tips, and recommendations for cultural, historical, and nature experiences. This group supports mobility aid users, along with travelers who have sensory sensitivities, low vision, and hearing loss, helping you enjoy a more accessible Japan adventure.
Reply To: Booking Wheelchair Seats on the Shinkansen
Thank you for your reply, I was not sure what replies, if any I was going to get to my post. Most of the places I plan to visit on this trip I have been to already but it was with my wife who is not disabled. This trip is with my daughter who can walk a bit but has to use a wheelchair because of an injury to her spine.
I have the itinerary planned and hotel reservations confirmed. Ground travel is planned but not booked as this can only be done (according to the websites I have used in the past) one month in advance.
I can share the plans with you if you can let me know how to send them.
