Very likely the hotel will have a shower chair already. But sometimes it might not be suitable – so I would suggest emailing them and ask for a picture.
Some hotels are fine with receiving the equipment, but budget hotels generally do not want to do it because they have no room to store the equipment. Additionally, the rental companies only accept cash, so your friend will need to meet them at least once for delivery or pickup.
