Medication problem

I am disabled and take strong painkillers. I take Co-Codamol 30/500mg which contain Codeine 30mg per tablet. These are classed as opioids. I have become aware that I have to be given permission to have my medication be allowed into the country. I have tried to fill out the online form but it isn’t very well explained and I don’t really know what I’m doing to be honest. Does anyone else have any information on this?

There’s a few forms to fill in and submit electronically. Basically you have to give the quantities of medication you intend to bring in and the specifications of them. You submit it and if there’s any questions they come back to you within a short time. If there aren’t any you don’t get a reply. When you submit your declaration you get an email acknowledgement. If you want a full explanation and the forms ask me to be a direct contact (can’t remember what to do) and I will fill you in as much as possible. Maury

Do I have to go to the “something to declare” at the airport?

I was in the same situation you are. I obtained a strong letter from my doctor, which you have to put what you’re taking why you’re taking it how long you’ve been taking it for.. at first I was denied and was told I couldn’t bring that drug into the country but once they received the paperwork from my doctor, it went through with no problem, but it does take a minute, so don’t do it at the last minute give it a good month and you don’t have to worry.
