    Istanbul Airport receives 5-Star recognition, thanks in part to its accessibilty

    The Istanbul Airport has recently been recognized as a 5-Star airport by Skytrax, and the airport’s accessibility is one of its shining features.

    According to their website, Istanbul’s accessibility features includes 916 wheelchair accessible parking spots near the entrances,165 wheelchair accessible restrooms, assistance services, tactile paving, an airport-specific app for guests who Voice Assistant on their cellphones, and Sunflower Badges that discreetly signal to airport staff that the wearer may need extra support, patience, or time during their airport visit – to name a few.

    Only seven other airports in the world have received this rating, and honestly, it’s no wonder Istanbul has joined them.
