Wheelchair Accessible Toilets Near Hiroshima Peace Park
Hello,
A volunteer recently shared some information on wheelchair accessible toilets near the Peace Park in Hiroshima and the nearby Orizuru tower next to the Peace Dome:
There are 8 restrooms in Peace Dome and all the restrooms have wheel chair toilet.

There is a orizuru tower next to Peace Dome and it has an ostomate…

A big thanks to @kyotoursjapan for pointing out that there are free wheelchair rentals available near Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto.

Excelent point on medicine. For example, a lot of off-the-shelf medicine from the US can be illegal here in Japan! There are exemptions but you must get approvals from the proper authorities etc…

Hello,
Thank you for your question. While a number of tourist sites in Japan offer wheelchairs which can be borrowed on a first-come-first-served basis, I would say it is only about 20-30% of the sites have them in Tokyo (Maybe @kyotoursjapan can comment on what it is like in Kyoto?).
