The most accessible cities in Europe for 2023
This new study explores which European cities are on the ball when it comes to accessible travel needs

This is clearly written by a drunk non-disabled person or by AI, otherwise I cannot explain it😛 I have been to 7 of the 10 cities mentioned (with Athens being my hometown) and I can say that half of them are far from accessible. Lisbon (the no1!) for example is quite challenging. It’s important such articles to be written by disabled people, otherwise they can cause serious problems to not experienced people. I will contact them and complain.

Yeah, would certainly like to see more data and reasoning…
And, as you mentioned, if they are disabled, they should mention it in the article etc
-
Hmmmm…
Not sure that is how you calculate it… 🤨
“To find the best cities in Europe for travellers with disabilities, Iglu Cruise gathered data from TripAdvisor and Wheelmap for the total number of fully accessible hotels, restaurants, leisure activities and tourist attractions for each capital city in Europe. The results were then divided by 100,000 per the population of each town and ranked from most to least disability-friendly by each category’s combined score.”

This is a very surprising list! I have been to around half of these cities, and the other half I have been to altnernative cities within the same country. I would suggest that most of this article can be taken with a pinch of salt. Take Lisbon for example, the lift system on their Metro is INSANELY bad. I even dedicated an entire post on my blog about that very subject: https://geordietravels.com/lisbons-lousy-lifts-horrible-metro-accessibility/
