I will check it out. Yes we are taking the Romance from Tokyo to Hakone. I know about the other transportations around Mt. Fuji and the 2 day pass. I just did not know how to get to Kyoto after the 2 days in Hakone?

Leaving Tokyo and heading to Kyoto. We are going to stop in Hakone for 2 nights. Is there a traditional style Ryokan we can get to and allows wheelchairs? We don’t need an accessible bathroom. We can manage for 2 nights. Also, how do we get to Kyoto from Hakone?

JR Rail Pass and Reserved Seating
We (4 of us) will be in Japan from May 28 to June 12, flying into Narita. 5 days in Tokyo, 2 days in Hakone, the rest in Kyoto with days trips to Nara, Osaka, Kobe, and Hisoshima. Given we have a wheelchair traveler, should we get a 7 day or 14 day JR Rail Pass? Also do we need reserved seating? If so, how do we reserve a seat?

I am looking through all the tours that are posted on Accesible Travel. Was wondering when it says “Not Wheelchair Accessible” what that acutally means in the establishments. i.e. Maybe tatami floors and they don’t want a wheelchair on them, steps, place too narrow etc.. If we were to book a Geisha Show (which says Not Wheelchair Accessible)… Read more
