We will be traveling to Japan from June 19th to 27th. Since my child relies on an electric wheelchair for daily mobility, I would like to know where we can find suitable vehicles for electric wheelchairs. We also need a guide who can take us to wheelchair-accessible attractions. If departing from Narita Airport, which hotel areas would… Read more

I’m from London UK and although not everywhere is accessible most places are and if they aren’t most do try to provide with ramps, etc. to get into the venues. I know that London hosted a very successful Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 so that has certainly helped push the accessibility in the minds of place’s owners

I went to Takaosan yesterday day and stopped for soba at one of the rest stops. Just I was thinking “gee this table is low…” a staff member brought over a tin box and asked “will putting this under the tray help?”
I love meeting people who are thoughtful and also creative.
(Sorry the picture is after eating!)

I once visited a model rail road museum and the displays were too high for my wheelchair. A staff member came by and handed me a mirror they keep for “wheel friends” of the museum. I absolutely loved that!
