If anyone seeing this is in my Facebook group, The World is Accessible, then you may have seen recently that I lit the torchpaper on a controversial discussion which just so happened to center around a trip to Italy – but don’t let me bog you guys down with that baggage here… instead, I’d love to hear about your travel experiences in Italy and how you found the accessibility to be there? I’ve only ever been to northern Italy, taking in the likes of Milan, Venice, and Trieste, with Venice being the trickiest for obvious reasons.
I’m sharing a piece from the TWIA website, which was shared a few months back, where one of our members headed to Rome and reported back about her experiences as a wheelchair user there: https://theworldisaccessible.com/rome-on-wheels/.
Do you have anything to add regarding Rome? How about other regions of Italy? If in Rome, did you check off the Vatican as a separate country on your list, if you’re in the habit of counting countries? Give me all that you’ve got… inspire me… because I really want to explore more of this seemingly never-endingly beautiful country.
