Hello, I am John spouse of Marie and we are in the US. I’m a bit uncertain if this is a place for us, so let me explain. I am 71 and Marie is 72, good health but about 5 months ago, Marie went from normal aches and pains to one knee giving her trouble to the 2nd knee giving her trouble and being advised one knee is strong candidate for replacement. And so our accessibility issue is both knees hurt and she cannot walk much right now, even using a cane.
She does PT, gel shots and it’s limiting her activities of daily living a lot. So why are we here?
Well, our daughter and her spouse live in Japan and we are going to visit in October and it’s a bucket list trip and it’s now or never. But the typical tourist thing involves a lot of walking. She is not using any mobility aids, but has limited ability to do hills and walk distances, and so how do we do Japan limited like so?
So that is why I came by, to see if this was a place for us and to see if people had advice not necessarily on her situation physically but tips on things to do or avoid, suggestions to be a tourist that her current limitations would allow.
Thanks for listening.
