Has anyone ventured to the Izu Islands south of Tokyo?
The ferries are accessible, and there seem to be one or two accessible accommodations. If anyone has been, please share your experience!

Hello Josh, I tried to start my own thread but got a message that I didn’t have enough activity to post one. Anyway, I found a tour guide in Kobe who offers tailored tours of Kobe (accessible included) for a reasonable price. Would it be ok if they created their own profile & posted about the services they offer? Thanks!

Yes, a few people have visited the Izu Islands south of Tokyo, and they can be a great option if you’re looking for something off the beaten path! The ferries run by Tōkai Kisen are accessible—staff are helpful, and it’s best to contact them in advance so they can assist with boarding. Izu Ōshima is one of the more accessible islands, with ramps, accessible restrooms at the port, and some nice nature spots to explore. Just keep in mind that some areas can be a bit hilly or uneven. There are one or two hotels with accessible rooms, like the Hachijo View Hotel on Hachijō-jima, but it’s a good idea to contact them directly to confirm details. Overall, with a little planning, it looks like a fun and relaxing place to explore!
