Hotels for hoist users
Hi, I’m an Austrian university student planning a potential trip to Japan, and I’m looking for hotels in Tokyo. Because I have muscular dystrophy, I mostly rely on a hoist (Hoyer lift) for transfers. The hotel needs to be accessible for a wheelchair/powerchair, and there should be enough space for the hoist to be maneuvered to the toilet and driven under the bed, as I read that commode chairs are not easy to rent in Tokyo.
Could you recommend hotels in Tokyo that meet these requirements? Ideally something not too expensive, since I’ll be staying for two weeks.

My husband who is a quadriplegic and I were in Tokyo in March. If you are looking to rent a hoist I rented one for 2 weeks from the company below which worked really well for us.

@Lynn Yeah i figured that renting the hoist was the easy part, just finding hotels where the hoist can actually drive under the bed is kind of difficult.

I agree. I only used the hoist for him in the bathroom and didn’t notice if the legs would go under the bed. Sorry not to be more of more help.
