About Us | Walk Darwin is a small group guided sightseeing ambulatory tour operator of Darwin, the capital Northern Territory, Australia. We offer leisurely walking tours of the city and its botanic gardens, and all our tours are conducted in English. Darwin has rich history or resilience and multiculturalism that is evident throughout all of Walk Darwin’s city walks. Whether just arrived, or looking to fill a morning before flying out, we will connect you with the city, it’s people and it’s past because all our guides actually live here and have done for many years. Darwin is a very easy to navigate city. It sits atop an escarpment and is laid out in a grid pattern. The majority of the city centre where we walk is flat and suitable for wheelchairs and walking frames. There are a couple of major hills, but for the most, if your staying at a hotel in the heart of town, you will find it very easy to get around. We don’t have sign language guides available so we recommend bringing an interpreter who will be free-of-charge. Australians can access an Auslan interpreter through NDIS but this would need to be booked well in advance as Darwin is a small city. However if you reach out to Walk Darwin well before your tour, we can provide written English ‘commentary’ on the day. Due to our walks being in the outdoors and built environment, we are unable to control the aromas or sounds for guests that may find these situations triggering. Your guide will warn when entering areas we know may have strong fragrances or construction work happening. Please work with us to make your tour relaxed and stress-free, by communicating your needs at the time of booking.
