Workshops & crafting suggestions
Hello everyone!
I am an ambulatory wheelchair user looking for things to do in Tokyo. Do you have any suggestions for accessible workshops or crafting activities? Things like knife making, cloth painting, etc. Thus far, I have been contacting places individually, with limited success. I saw one post about activities near Haneda in this forum, but…

A friend of mine just shared with me that they made chopsticks in Tokyo… not sure if this interests you.
We are going in March & will probably do this.

Buying w/chair ticket for Shinkansen travel in May
Hi
I am coming to Japan at the end of April and I want to buy a Shinkansen ticket for Hiroshima to Kyoto on May 6. I have been told I can’t buy a train ticket online till one month before travel. Do any of you know of a way I can buy now because I don’t want to run the risk of not being able to travel on that date.
Many thanks.
James

Thanks Maury.🙏

Off to Karuizawa!
Trying out the accessible Green Car (first class). Nice accessible toilet and the space next to the seat is big enough for my power wheelchair.
View more commentsBy chance were you travelling with luggage? If so, where did you put it? I can’t seem to find a wheelchair seat that also allows oversized luggage space. Is there something I am doing wrong?

@Data unfortunately luggage is a huge issue for any seat. There is overhead storage but it is a bit limited – the Shinkansen design was only taking business travellers and locals on short trips into mind and not a lot of space was created for traveling with large suitcases.
You may want to try sending luggage ahead with forwarding…
