Hello. We are visiting Tokyo right now. Last night when we arrived to Haneda Airport, my sister’s ottobock b400 wheelchair didn’t work. Probably in plane something happened to her wheelchair. Do you know somewhere we can get help for wheelchair repair?
19 CommentsView more commentsWe couldn’t go to our planned hotel and we had to stay in a hotel in the Haneda Airport. Now we have to find out what to do. We rent a non-powered, normal wheelchair for now. Ottobock japan is not helping about repair or anything else. Airport also don’t help.

I think if you don’t mind costing some money, one place will be helpful. さいとう工房 (Saito koubo, means Saito workshop). They are experts for repairing wheelchairs. But they need appointment, or check the time schedule with them by phone… ). Do you interested in it?

Hi! I have some specific questions regarding requirements of an upcoming tour client and would love the opportunity to speak to someone directly if that’s possible?

In the “Discussions” tab of the Japan group, feel free to create a question for each topic you have and we can help you get answers! (Obviously, to protect your client’s privacy, please be careful to not give any information… Read more
First time I was stopped by security 😰😵💫, but managed to get some pictures of the toilets at the new Kabukicho Tower.

Yeah the toilets are amazing and they’re everywhere. Even if a place doesn’t have a separate room for handicapped toilet, they have retrofitted one urinal and one cubicle with grab bars and stuff.- View 2 replies
Wait, why were you stopped by security?

Hi guys, going to Japan on 19th!! Excited.
I am a Right Above knee amputee and will be moving around on a prosthetic. My query is whether the Japanese culture of asking visitors to remove shoes will affect my travels a lot. Do popular tourist places /restaurants request you to remove shoes?
And how strict are they regards to this, especially…

You may want to post this in the “Discussions” tab of the group so it doesn’t get pushed down out of sight by other updates
Hi Rohan, hopefully you can repost this under discussions to be able to get more visibility on your question. I am a part time wheel chair user so different from your situation. In situations where an able person would take their shoes off, I would have been asked to take mine off as well and they would have someone wipe down my wheelchair so… Read more
