Does anyone know if having a temporary disability qualifies me for disability pricing at places like Teamlabs Borderless?
I tore my achilles and will still be in a boot and wheelchair during my trip to Japan in 3 weeks.
I have a doctor’s note and my temporary handicap parking permit I can bring from Canada. I don’t want to buy the wrong ticket…
Tak2 CommentsUnfortunately, it really can depend on the staff etc. Typically, they often stipulate “Japanese disability certificate” which is government issued for residents, but many places allow discounts with a translated version of what you have available. BUT it is not a guarantee and you may not get the discount if the staff or establishment…
yeah it’s the same as their regular ticket website.

I’m traveling to Japan with my mom, who can walk short distances, but we travel with a collapsible wheelchair for use when sightseeing, etc. Is it permissible for me to book a day tour with Accessible Japan for us? (We don’t need a wheelchair van but would appreciate being taken to areas that are accessible on an organized private tour.) Thank you.

Normally we do transport from Narita airport by accessible Japan.
I’m willing to do private tour.
But it is depend on destination .
If you already have plan, I will make plan and quotation.
If you need it, pls send direct message.
Hi Josh from Accessible Japan here.
We don’t offer tours ourself, but we have a listing of providers on the “Tours” page. The custom tour providers can often do a day tour and arrange an accessible van. On the accessible taxis page, most of the companies there can offer a day tour.

[Urgent] About Wheelchair Service.
Hi, I am a university student with a wheelchair and have been staying in Tokyo, Japan for a year. I have trouble with my wheelchair, and the only service I know took a very long time to respond for my maintenance appointment request.
Anyone here have any recommendations for wheelchair service around Tokyo area?

Sorry I did not respond timely. I also think they are able to help you fix the issue. Official contact should work https://www.abilities.jp/com/inquiry
If necessary, I will check with the company to give you the mail address or phone number of the person in charge.- View 3 replies

Ambulatory wheelchair worries!
Hi,
I went 2 times in Tokyo, and I am an electric power wheelchair user.
There is a LOT of accessible areas where you can stay / use your wheelchair. Sometimes there is no accessible way or it is too narrow, but the majority of shops are barrier-free (which is the term used in Japan for accessible places).
For the hotel, you can generally book…Asheley Krutsinger started the discussion Ambulatory wheelchair worries! in the forum Japan 2 months ago
Ambulatory wheelchair worries!
People who have been to Japan, Tokyo.
My first concern is of course the room, I’m not sure why when I booked it I didn’t realize just how small it was. 108sqft I’m stressing about fitting my wheelchair in the room for storage when not in use. I thought about maybe just using crutches for the trip but I do not feel comfortable doing that. So we…
