Shuttles between Disneyland Resort and Area Hotels in CA Ending
The ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) shuttle is ending on March 31, 2026.
For those who don’t know, the ART shuttle is an accessible bus that goes between the Disneyland Resort (Disneyland/DCA) and the surrounding hotels. It is a great way to get between the two locations. They also provided a bus between John Wayne/Orange County Airport and those…
Car or Train
Hi, I’ve just joined this group. I hope to travel to Japan with my husband and two other adults in first two weeks of April which I know is a busy time. My husband uses a foldable scooter (that we currently fit in the boot of a car). We hope to visit Tokyo, Hacone, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and then back to Tokyo. What are your thoughts…
Tak10 CommentsView more commentsI should add that my husband can walk but not long distances. I can fold the scooter and wheel it around
We (3 adults, 1 in foldable wheelchair) navigated just fine via train & sometimes taxi in Tokyo, Kyoto and Matsumoto (smaller city than the ones you mention), the big cities are especially easy with dedicated zones where it’s easy to roll on/off trains. All normal taxis were able to load our folded wheelchair (usually with bungee in the…

Booking Shinkansen as a wheelchair user
I know that I have to reserve a wheelchair seat on the Shinkansen (bullet train). I’m planning to do this to go between Tokyo and Kyoto. I’ve read that since there are many trains with many seats one can just book at the station. Since we are flexibile about departure times, I’m leaning towards doing this so that we don’t arrive at the…
View more commentsBook. Whilst there’s plenty of trains there are only a few wheelchair seats per train and everyone else reserves them. You need to turn up 30 minutes before your train which departs on the second at it’s scheduled time. Trying to get a ticket on the day might mean sitting around for the whole day which is a waste of time. You will also pay…
Good morning.☺️
I recommend that you get your Shinkansen tickets in advance. Go to “Midori-no-madoguci” a few days before the day you want to board the Shinkansen, on a day when your schedule is relatively flexible. Every Shinkansen train has wheelchair-accessible seats. The train you want to board may be booked. But don’t worry. There’s a…

Platinum Heritage Desert Safari
In December 2025, our group of three adults traveled to Dubai for a week, including one traveler who uses a manual wheelchair when abroad. During our stay, we booked a private desert safari with Platinum Heritage, and we are pleased to share the excellent experience we had.
The team arrived at our hotel on time with a comfortable vehicle…
Cancelled
I had lost a huge message and it said there was a bug. I haven’t been able to get back in here til today. It was in green writing so I think it was from Tabifolk.
Update – after many tears and sleepless nights I’ve decided not to go to Japan. I felt I was lynched at the meeting we had. Eight of us were going together to Japan in October. This…
View more commentsWendy, please don’t be discouraged! I don’t know if this means anything to you, but I’m paraplegic. I cannot walk at all, and I travel all around the world by myself. If you have to make the plans to travel by yourself, I have found the support in this group to make all the accommodations and arrangements. You don’t need other people to have…
1Thanks so much hun. I won’t be travelling with this group. Imagine how horrible they would be. I am looking for somewhere else to go. I don’t think I’d cope going away by myself. I have panic attacks. Not that they know as they are rare. I’m sure there must be groups that take disabled away on trips. Does anyone know of any? I’m in Australia. Xxx
