I have had to park my wheelchair outside restaurants before and they even covered it with a cloth so it wouldn’t get dust on it! I found Japan to very safe and you should have no issues as long as it’s not in the way.

Thanks all! Just making sure it was safe and acceptable. Know Shinjuku crowded like Don Quijote and Daiso and doesn’t look like much sidewalk space to park the mobility scooter.
