Besides, Meiji Jingu Shrine in Harajuku, THE Hatsumoude Place for people living in Tokyo, has now paved way all through to Honden Main Shrine. It was last year (or the year before?).

It can be controversial, but Yasukuni Shrine is very accessible (once on the grounds, there is a hill up to it though). There are ramps up to the sanctuary as well.When you visit Yasukuni Jinja Shrine, Yushukan Museum 遊就館 is good place if you are interested in Japanese military culture and history after Meiji Restoration.
