• I was wondering what the current restrictions are for mobility scooters for guests travelling to Japan and required to take public transit (local trains, bullet trains, buses, etc.).

      • Hi

You might want to check out this post:

Also. In contact with a recent scooter user who was just in Japan, she’ll hopefully jump into that conversation after she finishes her trip

        • Hi. That could be me- am going with my Atto scooter in Autumn. I have not seen any restrictions. You just need to fold the scooter to board public transportation – too big and trains and busses too crowded.
I notify all my hotels that I’ll have it folded in the room and try book a room with enough space.
Be happy to chat with Ami about it.

          • There is someone else just left Japan 2 days ago. From the pictures I saw online she looked like she had a great time. She’s going to talk with me after she gets settled at home.

            Stay tuned!

            • Wonderful- can’t wait to hear about it. Thank you!

              • Thank you both for such quick reply. I know the rules changed in 2018 to make it more flexible, but it seems like it is still a bit of a struggle. I would love to hear back from someone that just travelled. Also, does anyone know if the Limousine Bus to Narita will allow it as extra luggage as well? Kansai airport seems to be fine, but Keisei Bus seems to have a stronger restriction.
