Discount tickets are sold only to those with disability certificates issued under Japanese laws. So I think it is risky to purchase this ticket. For each exhibit, the staff may be flexible and you might be treated same as the people with Japanese disability documents, but it would be situational and judgemental. Sorry it may not be so helpful..

I’ve actually already purchased a disabled and companion ticket (along with a standard ticket) for October 8th, so I may have the same problem. My only disability documentation is from the United States. I have gone ahead and emailed the Expo for clarification. If I hear back from them, I’ll post it here.

My problem is that after walking about 1/2 mile my knee starts to hurt and if I go on I will need several days of regeneration. My vacation would be not pleasant anymore. So as on the Expo 2000 I will need a wheelchair. I will be on the Expo in Osaka on the 6th of October, so I might even tell you
