First-time solo trip to Kyoto + Ine (mobility scooter & slow travel tips)
Hi everyone 👋
I’m planning my first solo trip to Japan and I would love some advice.
I can walk short distances, but I sometimes need help for longer walking days, so I’m exploring a slow-travel plan in Kyoto and Ine (fishing village).I can usually walk, but I’m planning to rent a mobility scooter just in case, and I’m also interested in having a local guide who understands mobility needs.
🧭 Trip idea
-
Kyoto (main base)
-
Ine or another beautiful traditional fishing village with nice photo spots
My dates are still flexible — ideally:
-
cool or mild weather
-
not extremely crowded
-
but I don’t mind if there are small cultural events/festivals happening
I’m thinking 7–10 days, but open to suggestions.
♿️ Mobility info
-
Can walk short distances
-
Prefer to avoid long stairs/long walking days
-
Would like options for:
-
mobility scooter rental
-
luggage delivery (so I don’t need to carry bags)
-
local guide familiar with slower-paced travel
-
🏨 Accommodation needs
-
Western bed (not low)
-
Private bathroom
-
Shower preferred over deep tub
-
Elevator if possible
Budget friendly is okay — comfort + accessibility matters more than luxury.
