• Hello everyone! I’m from Alabama and it’ll be my first time traveling outside of the country next August to Japan! it’s a two week trip.

I’m very nervous and so that’s why I’ve started planning so early. Especially since it’s just going to be me and my best friend going together. Sorry for a long windedness but my question is are there any public baths or onsen that are available people who use wheelchairs?

We both really wanted to try it since it’s so different from here. But we realized it would cause a lot of trouble if we just went in there without making the proper plans.

I really appreciate your website it makes it a lot easier for me to plan, with the way things are right now with foreigners (Especially Americans😓) We don’t want to cause any trouble for anybody and we’re going try to blend in as much as possible. Thanks again!

      Love

      • So glad to have you here!

Yes, there are baths and onsen with accessible baths.

Which cities will you be visiting?

Welcome to Japan! For foreigners traveling in Japan, Google Maps is absolutely essential. Wheelchair users can use it to check whether a destination has accessible facilities. If you see the little accessibility icon, it’s almost always fine—unless there happens to be temporary construction, which is very unlikely.
