Thanks Josh. Wanted to chime in here with some of the places that I visited back in January on a solo trip. Both Canal City and Lalaport Fukuoka are very handicap accessible in terms of being massive shopping malls. Same with Fukuoka Tower, where you can see Busan on a clear day. I went to the Fukuoka Jo ruins by myself, and these were a lot more iffy for a solo wheelchair travel. Kokura Castle is in nearby Kitakyushu, and is quite accessible by contrast. It has a history with the famous dual-wielding samurai Miyamoto Musashi. There’s also Aru Aru City, which has a mall I’d like to explore more of (including a manga museum to Reiji Matsumoto).
