The Shinkansen is designed to go from A to B as fast as possible. This means plenty of tunnels and noise barriers, all of which block the view. December and January is not the best time for scenic trains except in mountain areas. Thank you, this is what I’m looking for. I know it’s not the best season to visit Japan but it is when we are having our anniversary. Beautiful mountains covered in snow will be a wonderful welcome sight. I live in the swamp in Louisiana so I want to see mountains even if you think they all look the same.
