    • Hello. We will be taking a cruise from Hong Kong in July 2019. I am partially handicapped but my husband has trouble pushing me sometimes7, so I might need help while on the day trips from our cruise. We will be on Voyager of the Seas.

Are there some companies that offer tours from the boats that can accommodate me? We will stop in Kyoto, Okinawa, and other port cities. If not at every stop, I am particularly interested in Kyoto.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your question!

For Okinawa, you may want to get in touch with Accessible Okinawa about arranging transportation, guide etc.  Here is their website: http://barifuri-okinawa.org/bfn/accessible_okinawa/about.html

Kyoto is rather far from a port so, you will likely want to get there by train first.  The trains are accessible, but I’m not sure what station is nearest the port (sometimes they are not very close and you need to take a mini-bus which may not be accessible…).  What port is it?

The guy I know that did tours in Kyoto just transferred a few weeks ago, so I’m not really sure.  What would you like in a tour?  Do you need a car, or is using public transportation an option?  We can help you find something though!

@melanie_lmt, do you have any thoughts?

I spoke to my friend @takeshi and his company may be able to help near Kyoto.  Here is the link to his site: https://omakase-tour.com/

He is very knowledgeable and one of the first companies to start accessible tours in Japan!
