    Hi, how are you?

I have helped a couple looking for a caregiver since you had asked me if I could help them.

You might not remember me, though.lol

I have a question; what kind of electric wheelchair do people bring to Japan?

People in other countries usually use the bigger wheelchairs.

Can everyone bring any wheelchairs they want?

Are there any regulations in Japan such as buttery power, size, weight and so on?

    Please tell me the details.

    Hi Hazuki,

There are no restrictions on what wheelchairs you bring in terms of laws or anything.

However, using a larger electric wheelchairs may mean you have difficulty getting JapanTaxi, smaller stores, etc.

The popular foreign brands are Invacare, Quickie and Permobile. All are sold in Japan as well.

Mobile scooters (ハンドル型電動車椅子) are not allowed on some trains because they have trouble turning quickly.

    Hope that helps!
