    • Whenever I travel with a companion, I always pay for their airfare, accommodation and food and drink, as they are an essential part of my ability to travel (I’m a wheelchair user who likes to be as independent as possible, but I know I can’t do everything myself, sadly 😥)

    • Ever booked an "accessible" room that wasn't?

      This seems to keep coming up — you book through a major platform, confirm the room, and then arrive to find a tub instead of a roll-in shower, or a “wheelchair accessible” room with a step at the door. What happened, and how did you handle it?

      • I try to book through the hotel chain’s official website as much as possible.

        One of the few times the room wasn’t what I reserved was at the EXCALIBUR in Las Vegas. The bed’s box spring hadn’t been removed as requested and the shower had a step. I immediately went downstairs to the front desk. The security guard directed me ahead of everyone…
