I do use the United app but I don’t think I have seen this feature yet. I have requested assistance through it and that’s been possible for a while. I might go play with that feature to book a pretend trip just to see how it works!

I went to Shinjuku Gyoen to see the Sakura today (not much to see yet!) and while they are using a reservation system to control crowds right now, wheelchair users can skip the line and don’t need reservations.

Do you feel that VR experiences are good or bad for accessible travel?
On one hand, it allows people who cannot easily travel to go places they couldn’t otherwise go. But I’m always nervous it will become an excuse to not make places accessible (“instead of doing renovations we could just give them a VR helmet…”)

I have not tried the helmet before, only virtual tours on computers. This may be ok for historical places that simply are impossible to adapt, but I think it should be used more as a last resort.

Weekend question!
So I was watching a YouTube video the other day and the YouTuber went on a day trip from the UK to Spain!
For me in Tokyo the closest country would be South Korea but still about 2 hours.
So… what is the shortest international trip you can take from where you live? Could you do a day trip?

I would say Jamaica, you could catch a morning flight in and an evening flight home. It’s about a two hour flight from Atlanta to Montego Bay.

From Spore, we can go to Johor Bahru (one of the nearest Malaysia city) by bus, 1 hour. Or go to Batam & Bintan island (Indonesia) by ferry, 1 hour too. Totally can be done in a day trip although I always prefer to stay at least 1 night 😊
