  • Japan outside of the big cities

Outside of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, what places are you interested in visiting in Japan?

Has accessibility made it hard to get to them?

    • We are coming to Yokohama soon, and after Kyoto we go to Kagoshima. I will report accessibility and informations about our journey right after 😉 Next year we hope to visit Sapporo, Hakodate and Aomori…

I would have definitely been overwhelmed by the trains without it on my first day. Some trips and classes that I wanted to sign up for were not available for wheelchair users but I did manage to find some that work…

        • Josh, this is the exact reason I haven’t considered an Airbnb property

        • Hello all!

In planning your trip to Japan, what have been your biggest challenges? (Not on the ground once you got here, but in the planning stage before coming.)

When we left on the same airline through Osaka and Haneda the staff took…

The hotels. Planning the wheelchair accessibility was time consuming and on the arrival some of the hotels didn’t meet the descriptions. In one it was impossible to enter the bathroom (it was only one night so I used an exterior one) and in another it was impossible to enter the room so we had to change it! People always very nice and helpful…
