I’ve talked to many people who aren’t even disabled who’ve said they would pay extra for a room with this feature as well - think of luggage, baby strollers, etc. Some companies I’ve seen have this feature: 🏠 @becomingrentable : Becoming Rentable has over 1,200 accessible short-term rental properties listed (more than Airbnb & VRBO combined) in all 50 states (+ Puerto Rico). 🚢 The Disney Wish and Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas also had these in their accessible rooms ⭐️ Do you agree or do you have a different feature you would pay more for? Transcript: I will literally pay more money for a room with one simple feature, and most hospitality companies have no idea that they are leaving this money on the table. I’m talking about powered door buttons, and let me show you why. This video is from a cruise ship less than five years old, and ships of the same age have powered door buttons in their accessible rooms. The only good thing about this room is that it had a piece of furniture that was light enough for me to move and heavy enough to hold the door open, but most hotel rooms don’t have a piece of furniture like this, so I can’t get in and out without someone else assisting me. In the description, I’ll add some companies that I’ve seen add powered doors to their rooms.   We have ruled out Virgin Voyages from the youtubers, etc. who have talked about their bad experiences. Apparently, they have no disability areas in the show/theaters and one guy with his mother in a chair had to watch from an obstructed view area way off to the side only.
