Good Day I need to rent a Joy Cart for my sister who has a very bad ankle sprain. Could anyone explain what the difference would be between the shielded battery and removeable battery type as well as the type for overseas users? Thanks so much 🙂

Hello, thank you very much for your inquiry about the JOY Cart.
There is no significant performance difference between the shield-type and the removable-type batteries, but considering charging at hotels and similar places, the removable-type may be slightly more convenient.

Hello all!
In planning your trip to Japan, what have been your biggest challenges? (Not on the ground once you got here, but in the planning stage before coming.)

For us the most time consuming before arriving – and leaving – was dealing with the one airline.
Although the service was fabulous just trying to get the power wheelchair gate checked and returned to the plane upon arrival took me months of time to get approvals.

Ambulatory wheelchair worries!
How about considering using a JOY Cart?
When folded, it becomes the size of a carry-on suitcase and won’t take up much space in your room.
Because it’s narrow and compact, it’s also practical even in Akihabara.
As it is an officially recognised electric wheelchair, it can of course be used indoors without any problem.

Does anyone know if having a temporary disability qualifies me for disability pricing at places like Teamlabs Borderless?
I tore my achilles and will still be in a boot and wheelchair during my trip to Japan in 3 weeks.
I have a doctor’s note and my temporary handicap parking permit I can bring from Canada. I don’t want to buy the wrong ticket…
Unfortunately, it really can depend on the staff etc. Typically, they often stipulate “Japanese disability certificate” which is government issued for residents, but many places allow discounts with a translated version of what you have available. BUT it is not a guarantee and you may not get the discount if the staff or establishment…
yeah it’s the same as their regular ticket website.
