  • Hello all!

In planning your trip to Japan, what have been your biggest challenges? (Not on the ground once you got here, but in the planning stage before coming.)

    • Hi Josh

For us the most time consuming before arriving – and leaving – was dealing with the one airline.

Although the service was fabulous just trying to get the power wheelchair gate checked and returned to the plane upon arrival took me months of time to get approvals.

When we left on the same airline through Osaka and Haneda the staff took…

The hotels. Planning the wheelchair accessibility was time consuming and on the arrival some of the hotels didn’t meet the descriptions. In one it was impossible to enter the bathroom (it was only one night so I used an exterior one) and in another it was impossible to enter the room so we had to change it! • Does anyone know if having a temporary disability qualifies me for disability pricing at places like Teamlabs Borderless?

I tore my achilles and will still be in a boot and wheelchair during my trip to Japan in 3 weeks.

I have a doctor’s note and my temporary handicap parking permit I can bring from Canada. I don’t want to buy the wrong ticket…

  • I’m traveling to Japan with my mom, who can walk short distances, but we travel with a collapsible wheelchair for use when sightseeing, etc. Is it permissible for me to book a day tour with Accessible Japan for us? (We don’t need a wheelchair van but would appreciate being taken to areas that are accessible on an organized private tour.) Thank you.

    • My company is wheelchair friendly taxi.

Normally we do transport from Narita airport by accessible Japan.

I’m willing to do private tour.

But it is depend on destination .

If you already have plan, I will make plan and quotation.

If you need it, pls send direct message.

      • Hi Josh from Accessible Japan here.

We don’t offer tours ourself, but we have a listing of providers on the “Tours” page. The custom tour providers can often do a day tour and arrange an accessible van. On the accessible taxis page, most of the companies there can offer a day tour.

      • [Urgent] About Wheelchair Service.

Hi, I am a university student with a wheelchair and have been staying in Tokyo, Japan for a year. I have trouble with my wheelchair, and the only service I know took a very long time to respond for my maintenance appointment request.

Anyone here have any recommendations for wheelchair service around Tokyo area?
