We’re a family of four from Korea and planning a trip to Okinawa soon.
We’re going with my 13 yer-old son who uses a wheelchair.
me website that some services may require proof of disability. Since we are from Korea and don’t have Japanese documents, could anyone let me know what kind of certificate would be accepted? Also, can…

Do you have something similar in Korean? If you do, you can try making a translation of it (using AI etc) and show that. Unfortunately, there is never a guarantee it will work as it can depend on each facility and even the staff working. So, best you can do is try.
Which Island are you visiting in Okinawa?

It seems that that a document that can be read it’s sufficient. My disability card has the information written in English to. In addition I will take a translation with me. I thought to go to the Konsulat with it for them to put a stamp on it but someone here wrote that e.g. the expo accepts it without translation.

Hello everyone
Does anyone knows if there’s a way to book tickets in advance for the Hirosima Peace Museum Boat Tour?
Their site doesn’t let me do the booking and their telephone service is only in Japanese with a recorded message which I can’t understand.
You can buy the ticket here
Information from the museum

Thank you Vinicius
I went through the options but the one with the boat ride is not wheelchair accessible.

Hi, everyone: I want to buy a special stroller for my 17 year-old son with severe CP in Osaka. Any one can suggest me where to find it? I am going to Osaka in Sept from Taiwan.

Hi
There aren’t many places that sell directly to customers but Abilities has a showroom in Osaka you might want to check out.

But keep in mind, if it breaks down later you may not be able to get it repaired where you live
Hello guys
I am going to Japan with my 3 adult children at the beginning of October.
I’m disabled in a wheelchair.
Does anybody know of a hotel in Tokyo which is really wheelchair friendly but not too pricey?
regards
Avichai

I am traveling to Japan at the end of October until November. I have a mobility problem due to osteoarthritis in both knees. I am mobile but not for long distances. I would like to rent folding power wheel chair while visiting Hokkaido, Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka. Is it possible to rent one and bring it throughout the trip or do I have…
View more commentsA friend bought me a folding electric wheelchair which cost between $1,000 to $1,200. It may be more economical for you to buy one and take with you from the beginning of your trip. I guess you would have to find out if anybody rents one and how much it cost. If you did bring your own at least you would still have it with you at the end of…
