I need a power wheelchair or scooter for any distance. Our travel agent seems to think we could have difficulty or need a special license. Any info will be helpful. Going to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima. Thank you!

they are particularly interested in the medications and medical supplies and equipment. I had to list out each item and get approval. I also need a doctors letter to prove the disability.
Hi, I live in Japan and use a foreign made power wheelchair and before moving here I brought my wheelchair numerous times. So, there should be no problem there.
Scooters on the other hand, while they don’t need a license, they can be a bit more limited in where you can use them.

Hey everyone ❤️
I am a wheelchair user (the chair is a hybrid between a power and manual wheelchair) travelling to Tokyo, Okinawa, Kyoto and Osaka with my mom who is a lively 69 year old and a helper. My mom wants to see a lot of nature. 💚
Do you have any suggestions for nature routes that can be accessible for all of us? 💛
So far I have found…
For Okinawa, maybe try Bios no Oka?

How nature-y do you want?
For Kyoto, the Philosopher’s Path is a nice walk, but not reaaaally nature. There is a train through a ravine that is in nature, but not a walk…
near Tokyo you could go to Hakone or Mt Takao?
