We checked into the Orchard Hotel in Singapore and I had booked an accessible room, on the first afternoon I went down and said it was unsuitable as I couldn’t get out of the bathroom, they were very apologetic and said they only have 2 accessible rooms and the other was occupied

Oh no!
Did they help you find another hotel, or did you just need to make do with the original one?

I unfortunately had to make do with the room that I had 😰, after I’d spent 3 nights there on check-out I asked to speak to the Manager again and all he could offer me in compensation was a free dinner at the hotel. Needless to say we never took him up on that offer and on the way back from Australia we of course stayed at a different hotel (which was MUCH better and cheaper 😄)
